What Value will the Toolkit bring to your Team?

To change how people do things requires changing habits, routines and behaviours.

Creating a toolkit that works has been a key part of this 10 year journey; leveraging best practice tools encompassing Stanford’s Biodesign & D-School’s Design Thinking process, Ron Mascitelli’ s Lean Product Development techniques, Tim Ogilvie’s Customer journey process and Alex Osterwalder’s Business Model innovation tools & techniques.

Our robust process has been packaged within an innovation enabling framework, aligned with the ISO 56002 Innovation Management System Guide Standard, which will become a certifiable standard for industry.

The toolkit is the bedrock of how to kickstart innovative thinking within any business or organisation. It gives you everything you need to drive repeatable, systematic innovation within your organisation or in providing training to others. A key part of this process is to bring people on this journey and identify some pilot activities to deliver quick wins to build their confidence and understanding of how this process actually works and why.

When this framework and process is established, it can be cascaded throughout the business and will lead to a planned Innovation Management System being established and embedded - becoming part of the differential the company offers.

What key insights make the difference

between success and failure?

While following a disciplined process is important, managing and leading people on this innovation journey is one of the secrets of the successful delivery of innovation activities. This relates to how teams are set up and their governance throughout the process. This equally involves getting people to buy into the process and creating a change in the culture.

Good facilitation is a crucial part of this process. This includes the ability to prepare, lead the team and facilitate workshops. Central to this is understanding how to manage ambiguity, analyse the outputs achieved and set up the next steps - this includes the integration of Discovery into existing R&D processes and ultimately creating an Innovation Management System for systematic innovation that delivers results.
